Lake District walks

  1. Sooo jealous! Looks fabulous and how wonderful to see Beatrix Potter’s house and her bunnies! I remember that the Lake District was where Elizabeth Bennett was supposed to go with her Aunt and Uncle before they had to divert – but since she wound up at Pemberley – it worked out. Also loved the wheels that moved the boats in Scotland – somehow I knew Marcus would be in there helping 🙂
The place you are staying looks like it is out of a storybook. I’ll bet the tea is good too. So glad you are having fun, and thanks for posting.

    • Yes, I’m going to have to re-read all of Jane Austen now to understand the geological references! She referred to the Lake District in more than one novel as a wonderful place to visit. That’s one reason I had to see it for myself. She was absolutely right. The Lakes may be the most beautiful place we’ve been so far. Skye would be a close second.

      cheers!
